... waterfront and had bacon and eggs for brunch at an outdoor restaurant. It cost 17.60 euro and was probably the longest wait we've ever had for the bill, but we enjoyed it. A small noisy protest go by on the footpath. Respectable looking people playing music, chanting and carrying signs. It seemed good humoured. We'd heard something similar the previous day. We asked the young waitress serving us what the protest was about. She said she didn't know, that there us ...

My little apartment is absolutely adorable. Most of the streets in barri gothic are pedestrian only, much too narrow for a single car to go through. We started with some overpriced Tapas and a bar run by a wanky Belgian guy who took great pleasure in telling us how good his food was. In the end the portions were tiny, expensive and not that great after a considerable wait. Ended up leaving there and making our way to Opicasso which we had found the night before and had the menu del ...

... also some very creative statue-people—you know, the ones who stand/sit absolutely still until someone drops a coin in their hat (or whatever) and then they make a face and/or change positions. There was one guy dressed like a giant bird, with gold talons and wings. Another one was Galileo, with his telescope and all painted in pewter (like he’s a statue of Galileo, not the person!). I continued walking along the waterfront. It’s beautiful with palm ...

... the zoo, put our bag in the locker, and walked around for what felt like hours and hours! We saw many different animals from all over the world, including my first rhino. After the zoo, we were exhausted. We went back to the hostel and chilled out for a few hours. Not realising it was then almost 8.30pm! We went into the kitchen area to find the 4 people we'd met earlier sitting around. We had a chat and decided we'd all do a bar crawl that night. So we booked our tickets ...
