... near the water. Figures, right?! Oh well. After lunch, we drove through some very rural parts of Florida to get over to I-95. I thought the small roads stunk, but traffic on I-95 was awful almost the entire way. Lots of major slow sections. What should have been a 10 hr drive is going to take more like 12-13 hrs. It has been a hard and tiring drive for Darin. He's a good sport ...

Hey! Piper here! Today concludes our trip and starts the long ride home. :( . If by any chance one of y'all wanted to do what we did, here's what I would do. Be sure to ...

We were able to see them much better from standing on the ...

Monkey Island started as a pile of rocks in the 1960's. It started with the lighthouse and than 2 squirrel monkeys and 3 spider monkeys were added along with a hut. The first island monkeys lasted 12 years and were replaced by younger ones. Today there are 5 spider monkeys on the island. The island is owned by Homosassa Riverside Resort and the monkeys are under ...

... creatures, enormous in size but kinda cute once you get used to something the size of a cow suddenly appearing in the water next to you. Which one did when we were out in the kayak one day. This one had been injured (probably by a boat's propellor - the cause of many manatee injuries) and tagged so that it could be monitored. All we saw was a red float moving in the water but we didn't know there was a manatee attached until it ...
