... day in Interlaken was taking Luke to Jungfrahjoch which is named The Top of Europe as its the highest point you can get to in Europe without climbing in. We caught 2 trains and a cable car which takes 2.5hours all up and we ended at 3450metres. It was well worth the trip the scenery amazing and Luke was excited. There were plenty of signs to say No Running and you soon realise why as you loose your breathe pretty quickly and can feel dizzy. I found it hard ...

... Instead, I whizzed by a bunch of small towns in southern germany and thought, "This is the general area that roughly includes the land of my ancestors.." and contented myself with that.

Arrived at bern around 1400 (2 p.m. for you yanks). Bern, along with the rest of switzerland so far, has been surprisingly warm. Bern is not pronounced like "burn". In order to pronounce "bern" correctly, I've figured out that the best way is to say the ...

Rome was just as grand as I imagined it to be, how can u beat seeing the colosseum up close and personal?! How about that little ol thing called the Vatican, smallest city in the world but Amazing. We only had two days in Rome, which just wasn't enough, there was so much to see and do, we really only did the essentials. First day was the Vatican. Not going to lie it was bizarre being in a country within another city. We went on a tour which was ...

... is suprisingly wasn't too cold considering it was 3 degrees. Had lunch and walked to another observation deck. We saw people skiing, was very jealous. The snow was so powdery and fresh. I wish we had that at home.

We came back down for another dinner cooked for us which was delicious - Swiss chicken, potato rosti and steamed greens. Played some drinking games with some of the group then I decided to have an early night for another long day on the road heading towards Nice in ...

    Happy New Year

Church bells and fire works welcomed in the New Year! The Church bells started up fifteen minutes before midnight, stopped for the clock to chime twelve and then rang on for another quarter of an hour. All of this was with a backdrop of fireworks all around us. The rockets echoed around the valley and the brighter flashes illuminated the valley as all the villages celebrated the new year. From Lauterbrunnen we could see the fireworks all around and above us in Wengen.
    Happy 2014 to you ...
