        ... cheeky pint and to use the loo! Big lack of public loo's. Finished the day in the Chinese Quarter listening to the sights and smells before catching the train (got it right first time this time). Shuttle bus to the Steigenberger Airport Hotel thanks to Nectar points it only cost 17 whole pence!!! Early night again tonight ready for Stage 2 of our trip... Amsterdam to Los ...

        ... for spare parts. We only managed the Rijksmueum and it was really good. Lots of Rembandt and Vermeer. Again I appreciated the audioguide. And we saw a school group of primary school aged kids and a couple of babies there which was a relief. We had dinner at The Lobby - the restaurant at the hotel and it was great. I must learn how to make creme brûlée ...

        ... we emerged from the central station in downtown Amsterdam. There were very friendly welcome agents outside the station giving directions and handing out maps, friendly place! After a short walk up a busy avenue we found our hotel, Swissotel, located right on Dam Square in the heart of the city.         ... favorite Almond Blossom. There are 3 floors to the museum. I started at the top (the later years) and worked my way down. There are plenty of English descriptions and those without the audio guide (I was one of them) were well served by the signs. I didn't think to ask if the audio guide was also covered by the card, but I normally don't spend enough time in front of one piece of art to justify a guide. I do enjoy Van Gogh's landscapes and flowers ...
