... my knees but the views are worth it! So today was a local specialty breakfast - pancakes. The guys had bacon and bacon and apple pancakes. I went for a spinach, mushroom, ham and Gorgonzola pancake. I had asked for omelette but I got a pancake... They obviously found the same lol. We are now back in Amsterdam after eight weeks travelling around and it feels a bit like 'home'. We knew which tram to catch and exactly where our apartment is. Tijl and Marique's daughter made us a lovely 'Welcome Back' sign along with a bowl of chocolates. Yum! The Anne Frank Huis, where Anne wrote her famous diary, lures almost a million visitors annually with its secret annexe, it's reconstruction of Anne's melancholy bedroom, and her actual diary, with its sunnily optimistic writing tempered ...

Another fun-filled day, starting with our first time using the tram system. The trams run all over the city, are faster than buses, cheaper than taxis and a great way to get around easily. Once we figured out the right tram numbers and directions, off we went!

Sidebar: this has become a vacation of planes, trains, and cars...and boats and trams!

Our first stop today was the Bloemenmarkt, the largest of several flower ...
