... tahfel" and means, "rice table." Several Indonesian dishes of meats and vegetables (several meaning about 9!) and plates of both white and yellow rice were brought to the tables and placed on raised grids with warming candles beneath them. The smells were enticing, but the meal did not begin until they (finally!) brought out our plates! It was delicious, and the gradual filling of the table, and then of our plates, provided a great opportunity to start to get to know ...

... liked at least! Although a lot of it was raw fish and biscuits, which turned Daniel off a bit. I tried some, even some herring, and it wasn't so bad. Plus they kept bringing beer. The most amazing thing of the day though was seeing a Dutch house, seeing how Wil and Bep operate and live, and realising just how much it was like Oma and Opa from what I remember growing up. Took it for granted then, but now realise exactly that it was really their cultural thing! ...

... dinner was over we were taken to Chupitos Shooters bar. this place was pretty nuts. Hundreds of different shooters on the menu. Reasonable pricing too. Lots of pyrotechnics were included. After this, we headed on to another night club. Bit over it now. Too much partying. When I finally got to bail, I followed mt phones GPS but it was really out of whack and i was a long way from when I thought. Once I got a taxi I realised how far off walking home I was.

... in the square there was a free tour through the red light district about to leave so we went on that. It was super interesting; we went through all the different levels of windows of prostitutes, went to a peep show (I didn't get to go in) and he talked lots about the history of prostitution and coffee shops. After the tour we went to a Vietnamese place in Chinatown which was alright but had very small portions. ...

... was raining pretty heavily by the time I finished the meal. So I sat around and it seemed that the rain wasn't going to stop. I googled to check what activities could I do on a wet day in Amsterdam and decided to watch a movie in this historical building at Theater Tuschinski. The movie I watched was The Grand Hotel Budafest. It was quite a funny movie. Had a few laughs. Headed back to the hotel after picking up some grocery at Albert ...
