Beachfront San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize Cayes, Belize, 501-226-2582-
... any my was the sea a bit rough a couple of people were a bit green, I was just quiet! The Blue Hole is like it says on the cover - a deep blue hole, went down to the furthest I am qualified to go 40m (well me and my buddy actually went a bit further but we wont tell anyone!) As we were going down it was getting darker and darker and the visibility was less and less, I was facing outwards ...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize traceywilson... place to sun and swim. The Split is where The caye was literally split in two by a hurricane years ago and is now a nice inlet between the Caribean and the flats behind the island. Speaking of the flats, thats where Tracy and I took a sea kayak we rented today. The weather was beautiful and the water was nice. Mostly we just chased down fish and swam around. We're both starting to slow down and chill out alot which is nice. its entirly due to Caye Caulker and we have ...
San Pedro, Belize blowstein... to the Belize border and from here got another bus (3hrs?) to Orange Walk in the north of Belize. I hadnt booked anywhere which probabaly wasnt the best idea as i arrived at about 10pm. As soon as i got off the bus a black guy in his 50s and with most of his teeth missing came upto me asking for money so he could get some dinner. i obviously told him there wasnt a chance in hell that i was going to give him any money which just ...
Belize City, Belize podtrekker... the 20 mile away destination' they wanted to reach could only be reached from Belize City, 50 miles away (Uuummm, we could see that getting places might be tough!), we were back on the 'highway' passing more flat green landscape, wooden shacks and ex US school buses of old that now serve as local buses. 3 hours on we arrived in Belize City. In the guidebook and from travellers we had been recommended not to stay here as at night it is unsafe so we thought ...
Belize City, Belize District, Belize nikandads2008... with an M16 and a shop in Belize City with a swastika on its sign, though it had the dots and was definitely not used as an anti-Semitic symbol. Belize City was much busier here than at the airport. After reviewing our maps, we realized that the airport is technically in Ladyville, which is sort of a suburb of Belize City. The section of Belize City around the water taxi is very dense, with buildings ...
Belize City, Belize boognish... to immigration again, to leave, Guatemala and the another immigration to enter Honduras! So needless to say our passports are getting a nice little collection of stamps! The first bus brought us to a town called San Pedro Sula in Honduras and from there, we connected with the bus going to La Ceiba, which is where we are now. The reason being, the bus got a flat tyre on a motorway and delayed us from getting the boat across to Utila. We should be getting the boat today and ...
Caye Caulker, Belize Cayes, Belize jamesmc... Jerry is J-Dog on the AC message board. They've been coming here for 20 years. We enjoyed talking to them. It was a wonderful lazy day. After some great chicken nachos at Rainbow Grill, headed back to the big island. A nap was in order after all the sun and rum. We had a late dinner at Blue Water Grill - sushi and Thai beef salad. Very nice. A wonderful day.
San Pedro, Belize mikeywazOf course our first stop of the day was Rasta Man's. Not by choice, but it had become routine. It was just too hard to resist. He would chase us for 2 blocks if we did not stop. It was just easier to give in. Sue and Greg went Kayaking and Tom and I headed to the end of the island to catch the Pirate Ship. We had seen it the day before and just had to go on it. The boat held about 15 people and a crew of 3. Everyone was very ...
Caye Caulker , Belize, Belize fishwheelAs it turns out, finding food, lodging, and an ATM was a much less arduous task than expected. The hotel where we plan to stay later in the trip had a room available. We had Chinese and have now experienced that in every country we have visited. Back at the hotel, Wende gets to sleep. I shower, briefly internet, and hit the rack myself. It's loud out and what I first think to be gunshots keep happening ...
San Pedro, Belize azmarine... fly into the water. Well I figured I had let out enough line and it wouldn't be a problem, so I swung in my bait and hook. I was pretty ****** when I saw my reel of fishing line fly off into the water along with my hook and bait. So our fishing experience did not start off to a good start. Our pride wasn't totally hurt after I caught a fish using the fishing rod. The sad part is I had caught it in the eye somehow, it ...
