... I'm still about an hour from Dunkirk. Now I'm just hoping I'll make my scheduled ferry at 5:30.

It's a good ride down the Calais, and as I line up to enter the docks, I feel like I am entering a ceasefire in a civil war.

All along the road are dozens and dozens of heavily armed police and guards, with dogs, and prison vans.

Facing off against them, along the small hills on either side of the road to the ferry, ...

... random town. At this point we weren't even sure what country we were in. After trying desperately to find someone who spoke English, we gave up and just had the cashier point to our location on the map. We were in some town in Belgium. I never did get the name of it. Finally we were able to figure out where we were going and we found our way to Luxembourg. It was such a relief to see that hotel. It was really amazing. I will get to the breakfast on the ...

... there will be many waiting to hear how I managed the crossing, well drugged up to the eyeballs I managed to avoid being sick, although it was not my favourite experience.

Landing at Dover we travelled through Kent and found a delightful camping ground just out of Folkestone. Lots of rabbits here just like we would expect to find kangaroos. ...

Why is the train station so far away from the ferry port? I walked into the town centre and couldn't find a map initially. Sounds like many stories of first time visits to new cities really doesn't it?

I eventually found an information centre in the middle of the city 15mins walk away and from there I asked the way to the ferry port. It took about another 20mins on foot. Ok.
