... in all we were a bit disappointed in the site. An obvious fact was the main item, the Amphitheatre was being restored....yet again another restoration. We also thought the restoration was a bit too much. Maybe you can see from the picture the roof of the seating...very nice neat gravel? ... It was an important Lycian city in 2nd century B.C. Olympos devoutly worshipped Vulcan, the God of Fire, most likely because of the flames at Chimaera. A couple of lazy days and really enjoying staying our little apartment. The area is mostly residential but lots of little shops, cafes and fast food joints; we think the Turks eat out a lot.
