Over 400km later, we arrived at our next overnight stop in La Ciotat. Was a newly built apartment over looking the port. Once again Tom takes us in to town and tries to have us turn into a one way street. Fortuitously the way we do turn leads to a carpark.
It's barely 100m to the main street and square and another 200 to the harbour. It was love at first sight and the adoration at first smell. ...
... We heard some folks speaking English, and struck up a bit of a conversation, asking who they supported in the race. Turns out that one of the guys is from Ireland, but lives in the nearest town. He reckoned that the feed zone would be in the long flat section that was just up the road, so the spot we were in would probably be a good one. Given that he knew the area – and they were nice folks to talk to – we decided to hang out there.

Well, we eventually make it to Hyeres, having made an accidental side trip up several country lanes, one way streets, a military airfield and the railway station, punctuated by several exchanges of cross words. By some miracle, we find a car park just outside the historic city centre, have a refreshing Orangina on the main square and wander through the market, purchasing some Herbes ...
... a wander, meal and drink. got stressed looking for a restaurant so decided to stop at a little brasserie for a drink - meals looked nice so we partook in our evening meal (veal for the boys and salad for the girls ( we are good aren't we girls) and a couple of bottles of vino!! \of course!
