... We love a freebie! Our walking tour was with a retired Chicago man called Tom and he was so adorable. He was funny and informative and kept us all entertained. He started our tour by talking about the transport system Chicago has to offer, which is called the L train. It is a good, reliable system that goes above ground and below ground. We walked under it many of times during our stay in Chicago. As we walked towards Buckingham fountain, we found ourselves outside the ...
... time I have not had to wait at an airport or gate. :) We were already keeping the plane waiting so they were all ready for take off before our first flight even landed.
It was nice to at least stand up getting from one plane to another ;) Somehow it was night again in Turkey, but not to the Americans... but I slept anyway, I learned later that was not a wise decision as it caused jet lag, but it was a lesson learned :)
... but the jetway/bridge broke down so we had to wait 30 min in the plane meanwhile the mechanic fixed it. By the way, it was only 6 degrees in Chicago!! BRRR!!! And just because we all loves to wait, there was some kind of computer problems either in the plane or the flight tower, but it gave us about 30min more delay at the runway ...
... odd hours of airports and planes, I was met at my apartment this morning by a very apologetic landlord...his intention of getting my leaky bathroom fixed in my absence not quite going to plan! The whole place was covered in dust, tools all over the floor; my toilet was in pieces on the balcony, and there was no sign of the shower at all. The tradies reckon they are still a few days from finishing, so the landlord is putting me up in a motel until then...I shall ...
... a Gospel Choir. Lyn could not get the smile off her face. Off to watch the ' Million Dollar Quartet' tonight as a dinner show - like we need any more food after the brunch we just had, Oh, and just for stamps, we had a light sprinkle of snow here today. I've included a photo of one of the snowflakes that fell --- strange you might think but, having grown up in the snow as a kid, I don't recall seeing such perfectly formed ...
