...via s stop on the West Bank of the Red Sea. A long and hot journey to Roots Camp sited close to small Red Sea lagoon. Run by an English couple who happy to have the truck set up camp in the backyard. Setting the tents up on a sun baked area was just asking for trouble. Luckily upgrades were readily available, the bar had plenty of beer and joy of joys there was a swimming pool. Our first track meal went off very credibly and this overland company appreciates ...

I was finally re-united with my lovely son, but the howling wind outside drowned out our greetings as we struggled to close the patio door. The weather had apparently turned very unseasonal – just our luck and our planned dive trip arranged for the following day was looking less enticing by the minute.

... everywhere we went given that tourism numbers from those countries are down 80%. This could also be the last entry in the blog for 2-3 days as our Egypt Vodaphone data SIM (3 GB for AU$10) in the iPad will cease to work after we leave Cairo Airport and Internet access in Jordan is expensive so unless we find reliable wifi in our Bedouin Tent accommodation out in the Jordan desert our next update may even come from Munich in 6 days ...
