Today is our last day in Egypt and we will spend most of it in transit catching the local airline from Hurghada to Cairo and then Another flight from Cairo to Amman, Jordan. The journey started with a 9:00 am taxi ride to the Hurghada airport and will finish with an early evening check in to our hotel just south of Amman in neighbouring country Jordan. We have really enjoyed Egypt and especially the warm welcome that the ...

Today turned out to be a lay day as Tish awoke early with an upset tummy. By late morning, she was feeling much better and we made our way down to the resort beach and had a swim with the local resort dolphin. We read about the dolphin on reviews written about the resort by previous guests so it was a privilege to actually touch and swim with him. We were able to secure two deck chairs ...

After a late checkin to the Palm Beach Resort (10:00pm) we were up at 7:00 am raring to go on day 1 of our Hurghada snorkelling trip on the Aquarius Dive Companies 'Aloha' dive boat. We headed out at 8:30 am for a 40 minute trip to the first dive site - reef ledge with a number of pinnacles. The depth was around 12 metres and visibility extended more than 50 metres just perfect for our day of snorkelling. With a bright clear day we had excellent conditions to view some stunning corals and ...

... Police check I was done. We had 15km of strong head winds, we were pushing to do 17km/hr. Didn't matter if we drafted or stayed at the side, it was just wind. Thankfully, we turned to the left, and left again (damn!!! turn bumps!!) and we had a lovely tail wind. The sea returned, and the mountains grew. Was great, until the body aches. The lower back - which is totally my stupid fault, day 1 being nervous about ...

... These lockers are going to get smaller and smaller it seems. Hopefully on the rest day in Luxor, it will be warm and less sandy to unpack and repack the locker. Camp was nicer, still in the desert, but not as bad. Amazing what you ponder on the road, as we are still going straight. Why are there so many empty resorts, what would this place be like in the summer months? Is that a cruise ship or an ...
