    ... Mandarin and water.  Our new material was all about directions!  We learned bus, subway, etc, and then how to find a location...turn left, go straight, etc.   Calligraphy class became colorful today!  We learned how to paint Chinese koi fish.  Jeremy and I were both successful at this, at least when compared to the lettering.  I have named my Koi Squishy, and he shall be my squishy.  Jeremy's koi has no name. :-( ...

    On Tuesday we got up bright and early to catch the 7:30am bus to Jiuzhaigou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting crystalline lakes and spectacular waterfalls. ETA: 3:30pm (an 8-hour journey).

    ... br> One evening we went to the Sichuan Opera, a traditional show that has being going for over 200 years and includes singing, lyre-playing, comedy, puppets, spraying fire and changing faces. We were informed it was a must see while in Chengdu – oh how wrong they were, it was awful, with the exception of the lyre-playing which was quite relaxing and the Changing Faces routine which was pretty cool to see, but only lasted about 3 minutes! ...

    We have some serious catching up to do!

    ... This day was very cold and the mist was something I had never experienced before. We weren't able to see much of the mountain because of the mist, yet I really enjoyed the experience.
