... and costume changing(!), a comedy routine, and even a human squeaky toy! Very odd indeed, a little like a local version of ‘China’s Got Talent’! Interesting to experience though. After it finishes we grab a bus back to the hotel and pack ready to leave in the morning.

This morning we start at 7am – we grab some breakfast, then chuck all the bags on the bus and head out. After an hour or so we arrive at the Chengdu Panda ...

... Park which had a lot going on such as dance classes and boat rides. There were also little tea houses along the way which were really cute and guys using giant paint brushes to do calligraphy on the pavement with water. Another strange phenomenon that seems to go on here is parents putting up advertisements for their sons or daughters trying to find them a suitable partner. It was really strange and some of the parents were obviously nearby vid they got a bit touchy ...

... and I held my tongue but gave him the look of doom. He must have sensed something because he backed off and started acting very nice as we walked out the door. The instant we walked out of the apartment, I exclaimed, "He treats you like you are stupid!!! You deserve better than this!!! Why do you let him treat you this way???" I couldn't hold back my anger. Chengdu is a sod to navigate, the buses dont go the route they are meant to, you cant get out of the train station, you cant cross the road for barriers arrgh it was infuriating!!! Needless to say soon after we arrived we booked our flight out to Kuala Lumpur.

The temple grounds are quite large and it was easy to spend an hour wandering the many hidden little halls and garden paths, pausing to take in the magnificent statues of Buddha in his various incarnations. I even stumbled across a group of monks enjoying a game of ping pong in a secluded courtyard. It’s a lush little oasis in the middle of an otherwise bustling city where the smell of incense permeates the air as people go about their prayer.
