      I also spent some time wandering around the Forbidden City, former home to the Emperor and Empress and courtiers. There are 9,999 rooms (one less than the Chines view of divine perfection). So there was no way I was going to see it all. In the end I spent an easy 3 1/2 hours just wandering and barely scratched the surface. There's just way to much to take in in one trip.
