Episode 1: Amazing Beijing

The journey didn't start the best as the flight took off over an hour after its scheduled departure due to a big traffic jam on the runway... At one point I counted around ten planes awaiting take off, maybe this is a normal thing but thus being only the 5th flight in my life, it all seemed unorganised and odd. On top of this the …

Beijing Take Two

After a terrible arrival in Beijing, we felt very pleased that we had booked a nice place to stay for the first three nights. It had the lovely crisp white sheets and strong shower that we had been dreaming about in Mongolia and after a couple of nights both Vinh and I, with the help of Vinh’s mum who …

Left the hostel at 10am after saying a few goodbyes and we were off to the airport for our 11:40am flight to Beijing.

It was amazing driving through UB with the snow falling quite heavily! We arrived at Chinggis Khan International airport with no time for a photo- you couldn't really see it!! Bobby (guest house owner) walked us in and …

Hello all! Thanks to everyone leaving comments. It's Simon - having let Rosie write the last few entries I felt I should contribute.

We decided after a couple of days that we would definitely want to spend more than the 4 nights we had initially booked in Beijing. For one thing, we really liked the place, but it was also extremely busy …

Who would have known that the taxi drivers would not want to take us to the station...I couldn't believe it...they negotiated with me for almost 10 minutes …

    Great Value

We stayed in a triple room for 3 nights in this hotel. Great value for money compared to other places. Rooms have all you need, except a mini fridge. Wifi was good and reliable.

Staff were friendly and very helpful with showing us directions and places to eat.

Location is close to a main road with many restaurants.

Overall, we are happy with our stay.
