          A Five Star Experience!

We found the Double Happiness Hotel to be a five star experience! Situated right in the hutong centre of Beijing, this quaint hotel offers all the charm of traditional style Chinese accommodation but with the comfort and conveniences of a modern hotel. We were upgraded (without our request) to a courtyard room which was very lovely. The hotel exudes a very homely atmosphere and the staff was friendly and highly professional. We enjoyed our evening meal which was served to us in the delightful courtyard and the breakfast was excellent. The staff even prepared us a simple breakfast to take with us on our final morning as we were leaving on a very early flight. Our stay at the Double Happiness Hotel was very enjoyable and we would certainly stay there again. A great alternative to traditional hotels.

Traditional courtyard house was very interesting and the staff were very helpful and speak fluent English. The price was on the high end and 15% fee was added at the time of check in which made this hotel the most expensive one we stayed in China

I would recommend this hotel. It was a good experience to be there. The staff was helpful and the hotel was beautiful. However, I find it slightly too expensive for what it is offering.

We arrived in Beijing in the very early hours of the morning. On a dark moonless evening, weary and bleary eyed from a 14 hour journey from Sydney via Nanjing, we stumbled for a kilometer or so down a narrow hutong* lane to what we hoped was our Double Happiness Hotel.

It was a great day regaling each other with debaucherous ...

Although it was only our first full day in China we realised that we would be photo props for Chinese people for the next three weeks.
