... along the beach is the Temple to the Goddess of the Sea. It was a miserable day and rained all if the journey to the coast, and then came on to rain while we were there. However it was an amazing place to go and see. We paid 2200RMB, which was about £110 each, but it was somewhere neither of us would have gone on our own, and certainly not a place which is usually on the tourist list of attractions in China. The drive back to Tianjin wax a bit quicker and ...

On saturday morning we took the D-train out to the coast to see where the Great Wall ends, or begins. On the sunday we got on a chartered bus to visit a less touristy place at Dongjiakou. That was a great experience, the wall is not restored and some parts you could hardly see it. We finnished that daytrip with a late lunch in the local guesthouse, very nice once again. ...

After a short morning we caught a taxi to the train station. I was so happy that we were going on a bullet train for the second time. It's not the fastest train in china but it still goes 160 kmh. It's really annoying that nobody speaks English. It's also annoying that we have to sit on a train for two hours but I'm grateful that we're not on a slower train. After a long time I think my sister has fallen asleep. Now I'm waiting for the rest of my trip to ...

... I could have stayed up there for hours. Just a sense of peace and we were so high up. The feelings were indescribable. After a very careful decent, at times on my bottom we made it to a vendors hut almost at the bottom. He showed us the view of the old wall and how the new wall had been built on top. Incredible. Then he worked his vendors magic and pulled out a book on the Great Wall. Opening it up to a page where we had just walked. ...

... with two double beds in them. Plenty big enough. Again the beds are hard which makes getting up in the morning easier as you don't want to hang around. Although the cockroaches running around the bathroom are a bit off putting. Ignore them, ignore them and they will go away. If I say it often enough it will be true. Thankfully they are fairly small not like the ones at home. And all this for only an extra 12 ...
