Jessica, the CLO at the centre got us a driver to take us to Dragon's Head, Qinhuangdao, where the Great Wall goes onto the sea. We left at 7am and got there at 12.30. The Dragon's Head is actually at Lanlongtuo. We drove through Qinhuangdao which is a bit 'back of beyond' and then arrived at an area they are developing into what looks like it will be a huge seaside / holiday home resort. The Dragon's Head is the part of the Great Wall which us built into the sea, ...

On saturday morning we took the D-train out to the coast to see where the Great Wall ends, or begins. On the sunday we got on a chartered bus to visit a less touristy place at Dongjiakou. That was a great experience, the wall is not restored and some parts you could hardly see it. We finnished that daytrip with a late lunch in the local guesthouse, very nice once again. ...

After a short morning we caught a taxi to the train station. I was so happy that we were going on a bullet train for the second time. It's not the fastest train in china but it still goes 160 kmh. It's really annoying that nobody speaks English. It's also annoying that we have to sit on a train for two hours but I'm grateful that we're not on a slower train. After a long time I think my sister has fallen asleep. Now I'm waiting for the rest of my trip to ...

... could think of is, one of these things is not like the other! Getting a bit weirded out by constantly being stared at! After what seemed like forever we finally managed to get to our train. Wow, very impressive, sleek, shiny and white. Very modern on the inside, plenty of leg room and large seats. The trip to the coast took two hours as the train was travelling an average of 155 kms per hour. The ride was so ...

... had built this part and we had fun walking around. We then sat back down on this side of the beach to soak up the sun... Joe and I discussed how the next time we will be on a beach will hopefully be a bit warmer!
We then began the long journey home and got back around 6 in the evening. Claire then made us some lovely Thai green curry and we watched some TV before bed.
