... get out of the nippy air. It's chilly and damp in Leuven at this time of year, similar to what I'm used to at home.

Touring the city streets, I'm amazed at how friendly everyone is. In Vancouver no one makes eye contact on the streets, they seem to rush to their designation. As I stroll through the streets, people who pass smile in acknowledgement, although they may be in on the joke that I have no clear destination in ...

Today was a full day: awake at 7am, breakfast at 7:30, out the door by 8:30, walking the city the entire time except for a 45 minute lunch break (harder schedule than work), then returning back home at 5pm. Now its 10pm and the sun is just setting - it won't be dark until 11pm. It starts getting light at 4am and the sun rises shortly thereafter. Today was a sunny day (compared to yesterday's clouds and a few drops of rain) so it was a ...

... waffles. Everything but waffles in fact. So our pursuit continued, now onto Le Pain, another recommendation per our front desk friend. Just like Charli's, no waffles were to be found (seriously?!?), so instead of pounding the pavement even longer, we took a seat.

Unlike any other breakfast I've ever had before, this one consisted of a basket of assorted breads, spreads, juice, and water. No eggs, meat, or fruit? Hmmm...

... Brugs blanche for SP and a Grimbergen for JC. Yuk! At least we managed to remind ourselves that we needed to eat. Jen’s chilli wedges didn’t have any chilli but they definitely did have cheese

We headed up the road to the Hairy Canary. It wasn’t very hairy but they did have carpet. There were plenty of drinks here.
