... at the TSA checkpoint, so a few folks had to go back and get new ones. Guess what? My hair set off the security tube again so I got the pat down and hand swabs, again. The good news is I didn't try to walk in the men's room like I did yesterday morning :)

We got on our flight with no problems, and had an easy trip to Atlanta. One of the young people on the trip had never flown before, and I think she liked it! We had just a little bit of time ...

... we settled in our rooms a bit and all joined for some cribbage since only 4 of the 7 play (so fare) we used tonight as a beginner lesson but Pete and I bet Sam and Melissa ;) Now I'm laying in bed trying to fall asleep we have to be up at 6:45 tomorrow for church and we will get to see the home we are building, where VBS will be and school we are donating to. ... walked up we met people coming down who said it was safe to sleep in the crater as storms were not predicted, so we were very excited about that prospect. We passed the cloud layer and it was amazing to see the land below appear and disappear as the clouds moved below us.

When we finally arrived at the top, we set up camp in the crater and hurried to the edge that overlooks the active Volcan Fuego. We could actually see it ...

... taking off. Finally, about 6:45 PM the pilot came on and said that there was a thunderstorm in our flight path and they had to let the storm pass before taking off.

Fortunately, I had packed some almonds in my carry on. While waiting for take off, I was very hungry. I ate all my almonds. When the flight attendant came, I asked for a water, and an orange juice. I guzzled the water, and asked for more. Then she came back a short time ...

... who is from Mexico City, and the bartender, from Australia. We probably spent about 2 or 3 hours at this restaurant, enjoying mojitos, guacamole, smoked salsa, and lively stories.

After this, we all reconvened at Angie Angie, an artsy bar with an outdoor courtyard and live music. We stayed with Bronson and Caroline until it was too cold and we needed to go back home.

The next day, we left for Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
