There is still very little crime here and you can walk anywhere at night without having to worry about being pick pocketed or mugged. The locals are very proud of this and also very worried that things will change. We hope they can keep things in check because it really makes it a special place to visit.

Food choices have been dominated by Pizzeria offerings for the last 3 days as the prices in the more varied restaurants have been prohibitive! Still, we have had some great pasta and seafood, accompanied by delicious Sardinian wine. I would whole heartedly recommend a trip here ' try it in one of the many campervans to be truly free of accomodation really only being available in towns.....

Auf der Fahrt von Aritzo nach Oliena hielten wir im Nuraghendorf "Su Nuraxi". Nuraghen sind prähistorische Turmbauten auf Sardinien (1800 - 1500 v.Chr.). Den Nachmittag verbrachten wir im Naturreservat Giara di Gesturi mit den berühmten wilden Pferden. Wir sahen auch wilde Stiere und viele seltene Pflanzen. Am Abend Einchecken ins Gourmet Hotel u Gologone. Man sagt, eine Sardinien-Reise ohne den Besuch im Su Gologone wäre wie ein Rom-Besuch ohne Kolosseum. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.
