The morning packup and breakfast all go well. I load the car, start the engine and notice the safety deposit key on the car keyring. Yep I was about to drive away with $1000 still in the hotel. First lesson of the day - clear the safety deposit box before you leave.

Neversink Reservoir after the Deluge

We had our lunch at the outlet of Neversink River on some rocks. It was a neat little spot - not too comfortable, but had the gurgling water next to us. The river was much to shallow to attempt to go up it at all. After lunch, we turned back and noticed some big dark clouds, but luckily, no rain. It did make the paddle back a bit cooler though. ... the Roosevelt property is the Vanderbilt Mansion. The home, used only for a few weeks in the Spring & Fall, belonged to Frederick William Vanderbilt; grandson of the Commodore. Built in a grand scale with classical ornamentation, it is completely different from the home of the Roosevelt's. Omdat het deze middag regende hebben we ook nog een spijkerborek gekocht. Heel wat goedkoper hier.
Voordat we richting New York vertrokken hebben we in de ochtend over Walkway over the Hudson gelopen.Prachtig uitzicht.
