Day 9 - North Pole, Fairbanks, Denali
... around a bit to check out the city, but mostly were looking forward to getting groceries, as we pretty much emptied the caches in order to cross the border... you just never know. So we stocked up well, while 2 of the kids slept in the truck. McDonalds was across the street, so we decided that would be lunch so we could drive hard to get to Denali in time for the sled dog demonstration at 4pm.

this past weekend i explored a bit more. i knew one of the university trails continued up one side of the large animal research station, so i decided to follow it. when i got to the end, up one side, the main path ended, but it looked like there was still a trail that continued to follow the perimeter fence (it's fenced in to contain the caribou and muskox). i followed it an eventually found there wasn't really any path. in parts, ...
Hours of daylight, but very pretty trees!
... was studying in Sydney for 6 months at the university there and she visited Melbourne and I took her into the city and to the Twelve Apostles.
