... right then my plans were foiled. I had wanted to hire a bike so I could not only see the town and castles, but also the wider landscape around the lakes. Unfortunately the bike rental place was closed on Mondays. Wasn't happy about that. I walked to the tourist info centre and the woman there said it was the only place in town to hire bikes. Grrrr. Not too much sightseeing today. It was about 12F out and Riga is nice, but small, so we saw most of the interesting things already. Last night, we discovered the USB cable to our tablet was bent and barely usable. After eating breakfast, we ventured out to the shopping mall to find a replacement. No luck at the mall, but we did find one at an electronics shop near our hostel. Thankfully it wasn't expensive so we got it and put our minds at ease.

... the campsite, though it was 10pm by the time we arrived and because we are further south now it was also getting quite dark. The guy on the gate didn't speak any English so he radioed for another guy to come and show us to our camping spot. Even in the dark we could tell that it was a beautiful campsite. There were big clumps of trees around a few clearings and it seemed that everyone had their own timber ...
