My bus from Tallin to Riga was a luxury bus with tvs, snacks, and headphones. The bus to Vilnius was with the same company but this time only 3 Euros ...

... to Riga) and I went to the museum of genocide victims. It was really good. The prison underneath is like the prison in Tallinn, but they had some solitary confinement cells with water torture. There was no heating. The cell had a little pedestal that the man could stand upon to escape the water or ice in winter. Eventually he would fall in. It was really sad. After eventually finding it hidden in a small courtyard with little signage we decided to have an early tea before heading out to climb the old castle and watch as dusk descended on Vilnius. We sat on the castle walls for a while and enjoyed watching all the lights come on and seeing the city come to life. Once it was properly dark we climbed back down and enjoyed the street ...

... Hong Kong, Tokyo, Slough, had a fair number of people who spoke good English. My German is improving and I could get by in Berlin even without using any English, but Lithuania is pretty tough! However, it is my favourite place so far. I'd recommend everyone to come here, even if you don't make the strip club. Btw - I forgot to mention that one of their national dishes is fried bread. OMFG. Fried bread with a melted cheese dip is amazing!!!! Best ex-Russian country ...

... worth it. We didn't have much time though and had to hustle back down to make it in time for the tour. Going down broken stairs is even more nerve-wracking than going up them....

Our tour was led by a Vilnius native named Martina who, in addition to telling us a lot about the country and city also ended up chatting with us for most of the tour. As seems to be pretty standard in this part of the world, we were the only Americans there along with a group ...
