... and as we touched ground realised Vilnius was much the size of Napier airport but served as an international one. Well the passport control was the absolutely slowest I have ever been through and an hour later and a bizarre maze of corridors we finally collected our bags and then couldn't find the pick up man. ... houses with veg patches, wood stacks and polytunnels. Some big sheds, probably with pigs inside. Our train stopped every 5 mins or so, but none of the places were very big, tho a couple sported a big church.
Vilnius feels somehow smaller and more intimate than Kaunas, perhaps cos the latter has the long, treelined, wide pedestrianised street, whereas here the streets are mostly narrow. There are churches everywhere, almost on every street corner at ...

We cycled back up the pretty main street of Trakai to get back to the hotel, checked out and caught the local train to our new hotel in Vilnius, the Raddison Blu hotel. Luxury. A far cry from the "Best Hostel" in Riga.

The young women here are quite attractive but since it's a poorer country, they dress a bit more commonly compared to, say, the Danish women. The Danes were more classic beauties, even if a bit on the cold side, and very posh. The men aren't bad looking either but no one is smiley here, they're very terse.
