    ... appropriate word to describe it. Also saw a local squirrel – She? Was chestnut coloured with white rings around her eyes and was quite agitated that I had disturbed her, flicking her tail and making some annoyed type noises. I wondered if there might be young ones around, hence the assumption it was a protective mother.

    On to crepes. I like a good crepe, but it has to be said Sam has always been the one leading the charge in this department. But ...

    ... down and put our hands at our sides and they touched us on each shoulder lightly with a wooden sword. It would hurt if it was a metal one. Mummy says this is how you get knighted, but I didn't know that because Ardern didn't tell me what they were saying.

    After that we got a certificate rolled up and tied with string. This is in French but Mummy says that the certificate says I am a knight!

    On our way back to Switzerland, we stayed in the capital of Burgundy, the city of Beaune. We rode about 495 kms in total this day, with mostly highway riding.

    We went into the city center for a glass of wine and dinner. The centre is quite interesting, with many wine bars and restaurants.

    The wine we had was good, but we needed more time to really get an appreciation of the local wines.
