... made my way down to the Patrick centre. This museum had a lot of interactive displays on the life of St Patrick. It was actually quite interesting. However at the end I was left wondering how much of what we know about the actual man and how much is myth. Early historical accounts of the man where written five hundred years after his death by monks commissioned to document his life. Their viewpoint might have been a little slanted ....embellished ....OK they were massively ...

... was established as a Coach Inn in 1642. It is in very good condition, although there is not much room to stable the horses anymore. After settling in and having some lunch I meandered down the road to the Down County Museum. The museum is located in the "new" Downpatrick Gaol. The new gaol operated between 1796 and 1830. The old gaol no longer exists but it original site is where the local high school is now. I know some ...

... who was looking at her, then me, then her again ....... It was poetry in motion, Jude picked up her bag (Judith here: I was trying to contain my laughter). Then her girlfriend arrived and when we left 1/2hr later they were still going hammer and tongs over their TEA AND TOAST! The moral is: Senior Seniors rule in Skerries!" We then headed to the mill again. Joined a tour with 4 irish women who were having a break away. Had fun time with them and ...

We motored for 10.5 hours against the breeze in a lumpy sea. It was an uncomfortable ride and no one ate much for lunch.

Carlingford (the town) is a 15 minute walk from the marina, but I was nursing a sore knee so I stayed in board.

The Mourne Mountains to the North have some great walking, but we are just here for the night.
