As a hotel guest, they give me ticket for free travelling around the city. The city separated by the lake. Almost every shops selling watches. I don't understand why people buy expensive watch which the same value to buy a car. can any one tell me?.
Afetr been working for a whole year, sacrificing family time and my own, the time has come to make a stop at my vacations. Every year, I look for something to make my family remember when we are on vacations.
This year, my mother-in-law wanted to ...
... politics and culture, so he doesn't push the French on me. I have really learned a lot from them, and am so thankful for all that they have given me. I made them Chicken Wild Rice soup last Friday (and I listened to a Prairie Home Companion while I was cooking... felt like home). The soup turned out alright, kind of salty... of course my mom can do it better...
My friends got a hold of an American football, so we played ...
... pepper and other ingredients in just the right proportions to achieve the sought-after taste. Melt (fondre in French, which is where the word fondue originates) it all together in a pot over a small flame to keep it hot. Then stick a small piece of thick bread on a long fork and swirl it around in the pot. When the bread is pulled out it is covered in cheese. This can be popped in the mouth right away, taking care not to get the fork in one’s mouth. It ...
Trélex, Vaud, Switzerland joelmeeker... 8220;vacation” was planned. Yes, I had scheduled sketching and homework time before we even left. I should probably stop mentioning things like this in the blog...aaaaanyway, after walking through the museum, which was itself really cool (POW records from WWI, different sensory rooms…I’ve had great luck with museums so far), we did our structural building analysis for a few hours in the café. Once I knew more about the ceiling ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland cmvanackerBonjour!
I have officially survived a week of Switzerland--not that it was hard. It seems like I have been here for months already, I have a pretty good grasp of the place. For being such a major city, Geneva feels very small. I always run into my friends, no matter where I am, and you can notice a man in a funny outfit down by the lake and recognize him at the train station a few hours later. I have also learned how to read timetables for the buses and trains ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland teacorn... close...with or without you!" Dad was already working on Plan B, but I told him we would make it. Sure enough, after we got through security they just started boarding our flight. Hurray! I was right! :P So we ended up getting on the plane just in time for a thankfully boring 1 hour flight to Geneva. When we landed we got our bags, hopped into our rental car and ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland lunababy... artefacts, and some watches thrown in for good measure. This is Switzerland, after all. So why not? It's free, anyway. Hooray. Finally, we capped off our day by visiting the Natural History Museum and it's collection of three trillion stuffed birds. Though stuffed also with screaming children, the museum was quite enjoyable, especially the exhibit of radioactive minerals with a barrier to keep the curious from ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland sponger42I find the breakfast quite acceptable even though the cold milk isn't all that cold and the little sausages are pale white and remind you of small fingers and taste about the same, I imagine. Andy pointed out that one of the cheese packages has a picture of a laughing cow and is called 'The laughing Cow'. The cow also has earrings. Very strange/cute and very good cheese so look for the laughing cow. Another day in Geneva, another day with ...
