We have spent this week relaxing in Annecy, lots of lovely long walks around the lake and out along the canals. We have also spent a little bit of time organising our luggage to try and avoid the stress we had with it being overweight when we left Australia in January. 30kg's and 7kg hand luggage each is not much for a year. We were allowed 40kg each at the start of the year as we were ...

... out and left our luggage in the onsite storage ready for pick up on the way to the train station later that evening.
Our first activity of the day was finding Shaylee some warm clothes and boots having not had a great amount of success the night before. Luckily during our wander we did get to take in both the architecture of the city which has an almost Parisian feel to it and we also got to stroll past a couple of quaint gardens.

... br> A little bit about Geneva and Switzerland.

Geneva is Switzerland's second biggest city. It lies in the southwest, near the border with France, at the western end of Lake Geneva, where the Rhone flows out of the lake. A number of major international organizations have their headquarters in Geneva. These include the United Nations (UN), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UN High Commission ...

... museum we wandered through was the Maison Tevel built In 1303. We'll preserved and artfully displayed... Especially the 3D story board on the history of the city. However the most memorable part of this experience was a most talkative employee who cornered us while explaining how government works (or doesn't) in Switzerland. The fact that his pension will add up to 7000 Swiss Francs per month explains, ...

... are a lot of world organizations here, like Red Cross and the WTO. All of them have stunning looking buildings. We also stopped by the Botanical Gardens and we are glad we did. The flowers smelled so good and they had a little animal section. It was like Merrill Park Zoo on steroids and much nicer.

We got back to the hotel and strolled Lake Geneva one last time before we head out. This is worth coming back to.
