Chffing down
So today I acheived most of the things that defeated me yesterday. I have had a key cut so I get use our ski locker. It may have cost 12.50CHF (that would be Swiss Francs or Chuffs as they are know here) but I weighed up the other option of lugging ski kit to apartment door, hoping someone has left me a key before trekking downstairs and up again all season. A nice gentle start on the slopes
... piste so not too shabby for a first day out. Decided (ok legs demanded) to call it a day at 1pm. Took the bus home from Le Rouge back home.
Sadly I wasn't brave enought to take my camera out today so there are no amazing piccies to accompany this-sorry folks! but I'm sure there will be plenty more opportunites.
Although after 3 hours on the slopes I still have no idea which runs are which,where I was or where I should be aiming for in future-ah well!

Walked home with Beth who has been making the No14 christmas tree look beautiful. The whole chalet is going to look so stunning when they have finished. We had a 'ready,steady cook'style dinner of random things we found in the fridge and cupboards. Result? a really rather good dolcelatte risotto.
Early to bed as we are heading up the hill tomorrow morning!

Team dinner at 14
... fig chutney and toasts and then-yes more!-honeycomb and apple parfait with apple sorbet. My goodness! The most incredible meal I've ever had. The chefs are outstanding. The service was smooth and charming, so impressed with the hosts.
After finishing our drinks in the lounge the team head out for a few drinks on the town. I'm entirely sure that Verbier nightlife is quite me. Very different to La Ros vibe of fun and friendly. I need to do a bit more expolring to find my fit I think.

My stay in Leysin was short, mostly due to the fact that tourist towns outside of tourist season are awfully creepy... especially when you have a 20 person hostel completely to yourself and an owner that is far too excited to have someone staying there. The two night original plan quickly turned into an overnight stop and go.
