Well, our last week in California as Californians went quickly, but was certainly enjoyable. After three days at our Thousand Trails RV Park in Indio, we "moved house" (see picture #1)(to borrow a phrase from my Irish friends!) up the road to Desert Hot Springs-Desert Pools Resort (picture #2). The resort was aptly named, as it featured three jacuzzi hot tubs at different temperatures (98, 100, and 104 degrees F.)which were fed by natural hot springs. Lieing on an inflatable mattress and barely audible I try to thank Martin's mom for the hospitality, the deep sleep overcomes and its 9 hours of powerful sleep. Martin and I were on the trail for a total of 14 hours, 22 miles and an elevation gain of 10,634 feet. Martin and I are pretty amazed with ourselves. When I say, "'Thang!' You say 'Ain't no!'" . "Thang!" ......I am a honky. <br>

It's always cool when worlds collide at such a fun event. The grounds were at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. It was beautiful, the best weather. The guy who does the lighting for their shows had 140 palm trees surrounding the venue lit up as well. He also rigged the first 20 or so out from each side of the stage ...
Indio, California, United States clay_holseyI had made many a trips to Big Bear during the snowboarding season being that it is really the only place you can do a day trip from Vegas. However a few times we got the luxury of having a place to crash for the night. Only Teresa and I would somehow manage to be able to make a crash pad out of Oscar de la Hoyas Big Bear cabin and training compound. The two of us and usually 15 or so of the worlds best fighters under one roof..... we consider ourselves very lucky ladies :)

Palm Springs, California, United States gnatalia... for me if I wanted to use then payphone. At around $2 per minute I felt there must have been a better option. There was. Almost. They did have internet access as part of some national wireless hotspot subscription service. It was $4.95 for 24 hours and seemed my best bet. But to pay, so that I could get online on Skype and call my bank and activate (and make valid) my credit card, it required an active and valid credit card. There was another option ...
