Today we drove from Montpelier, ID to St. George, UT on our way to the Grand Canyon. We saw some beautiful, rugged prairie land, lots of hills and gorgeous, rough cliffs, as we wended our way south, through Provo, UT, east of Salt Lake City, and south into St. George. We walked up to the hot springs and walked part way up the board walk that goes all the way to the top (we did not go all the way up to the top). The weather was chilly and showery, so it was raining off and on.
After Mammoth Hot Springs, we headed down to Old Faith geyser and all the geyser basins in between. Yellowstone is built inside a volcano that erupted 640,000 years ago, hence all the hot water ...

The day before we left on our trip it was a sad/happy day. Annie was turned in for a new Annie. Old Annie has been a great friend, but she had 55,077 miles on her. New Annie has just 1 mile on her! Wow, is new Annie nice. Instead of mowing the lawn like Laurie wanted - Annie needed 50 break-in miles on her, someone had to do it. Sixty miles later the lawn got mowed.
