Slight detour today, drove 30km in the wrong direction before realising we should of reached Finland by now. Back to where we started, but this time finding the right road we set off for the day. So, snowmobiling was interesting...Mum hated driving (don't think the threat of a 500 euro excess if you pranged it helped) so as soon as we could we swapped. Was quite fun driving but my forearms and thumb got very sore from steering/pressing the throttle all the time/hanging on for grim death.

... were greatly rewarded with stunning views from the top of the mountain, just as the sun was setting. A breathtaking view of sparkly white as far as you could see, with snowcapped trees and the few odd buildings.
Then for the way down. The ski centre had by this time closed so we figured the best way down by far was going to be by descending the ski slopes on our bottoms. So we did. Haha tremendous fun as we skidded down and even better when we got to the jumps ...
As evening drawed in, we were then taken for our next night-time excursion. This time a snowmobile journey out to 'Aurora Kota', a little hut specially designed for presentations by the nearby Geological Institute. In this 'theatre' we discovered the science and magic behind the Aurora Borealis, fascinating stuff. Then the return snowmobile ride through the darkness back to our chalet for dinner.
