... ein, welches uns einen tollen Ausblick auf die Bay of Fundy gewährte.<br><br>Unser Ziel heute waren die Hopewell Rocks. Es handelt sich hierbei um Gesteinsformationen, welche durch die gezeitenbedingte Erosion entstanden sind. Bei Ebbe kann man um die Formationen herumlaufen. Wegen des Tidenhubs von durchschnittlich 12 Metern stehen die Felsformationen zweimal täglich unter Wasser. Nachdem wir heute das Ganze bei Ebbe angeschaut haben, gehen wir morgen nochmals bei Flut vorbei.

She was fine once we reached Fredericton.<br><br>After almost ten hours on the road we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express hotel at the outskirts of Moncton. &#8220;Outskirts&#8221; is a synonym for &#8220;boondocks&#8221; so after check-in we piled back into our vehicles and drove into town for dinner. Maverick&#8217;s was a pleasant enough restaurant (entrees about $28), the food was decent if seriously over priced, and we were too tired to care.

... all screaming in French drunken than ever at 3 in the morning, one dude blasting on a harmonica and myself on guitar not understanding a word. Oh my it was truly a blast. Someone threw up and there was noise complaints from the neighbours so it was an authentic party. I didn't pass out till 4:30... I awoke at 8 the next morning to get ready to go, the german ladies had accepted my request to tag along with them for the next part of their journey!

... it seems like it wasn't quite a direct hit and we got some really good odour removal stuff from the vet in Souris so it's not as bad as it could be. There is still a bit of an "Ew, what's that smell" when you open the car door, but it fades into the background after a while. Today was a short travel day to Moncton to enjoy Cindy and Don's hospitality and have a nice visit with Ellen who drove up from St. John for the night. Tomorrow it's off to Quebec.

Spent the morning doing the tourist thing - went to an Acadian museum, visitors' centre, etc. The most eventful part of today was a short afternoon drive from Moncton to Hopewell Rocks, which is in (on? near?) the Bay of Fundy, the site of the highest tides in the world. It was actually quite a hike to get from the visitors' centre to the flowerpot rock formations, but definitely worth it to see ...

... and picked up the rental car without a problem. <br><br>We found out just a few days before going to Moncton that there was an annual seafood festival going on at the time of our visit - quelle bonne surprise! Spent most of the day shopping and walking around downtown Moncton (which is not very big). The 'festival' mostly consisted of cooking demonstrations/tastings at various points around the city, as well as ...

... day in 2 weeks that we've really seen bad weather. But this rain gets you soaked and you stay soaked... oh well... it's on to PEI tomorrow and we can't wait to cook our own meals for a change. We've been very well entertained by the kids. They fight about every day around 3:30 in the back seat, and grammy and I have been treated to some choice name calling like pickle face, blimp butt, I hate you... we've threatened to let them both ...
