It took a long time to get out of San Francisco. We drove past "the painted ladies" on Steiner St on our way out - but very grey and damp, and nowhere to park. It was easy driving the side streets, but after 2 hours we'd only moved 50 miles from San Francisco.

Came to a lovely little coast town Cayucos, really quaint with a pier and as we cycled in there was a fish& chip shop, Duckies, so Peter said we just had to stop even though it was only 11.30 so we shared a portion of fried snapper with chips and a beer, very good.
