Beachwalker Inn Pismo Beach

... we head for LA-hollywood to be exact.it will be another full day of driving. just before this place, we saw sea lions on the beach, heaps of them. and the seals on pier 39 well that was something else! 100's of them all trying to get on not enough pontoons. we had a lovely 1 hour Bay cruise by the way, the fog had lifted by then so we had a good view of everything(that was yesterday as we were too late for ...

We had a brilliant night in our tent. It was the perfect climate, and the perfect surroundings.

We did not visit the Cracked Crab for lunch after all. I did not think it was reasonable to have such a large, pricey meal for lunch! I did however get the best clam chowder from Splash's Cafe! I have had too many clam chowders since we arrived on the coast at San Francisco, and this was by far the best!!!!

Once again, we aimed for a sunset, but were once again denied by the clouds.

Our campground is not exactly in the town centre, but not far either (by our standards). It is about ½ hours walk to the town centre, so we decided to walk in, rather than drive.

Our choice for dinner was Giuseppe's, an Italian restaurant. Make no mistake... my choice would’ve been the Cracked Crab, where everyone wears a silly bib to tuck into their crab. As we ...

... the fish market! I bought 2 Dungeness crab portions, i.e. the whole crab for $7.19!!! I got those cracked, and we accompanied them with ½ dozen oysters on the half shell, for just $7.50 and some garlic fries. Unfortunately, as they were such “takeaway food”, I forgot to take photos!! AAARRRGGGHH!!! The oysters were FAB, but the crab could’ve definitely done with some kind of seasoning. This was rectified with some lemon! PERFECT!!!

... realise was that Morro Bay is also a fishing town..... which can only mean one thing.... CRAB!!!! I went in search of crab, leading us to Embarcadero, which is on the waterfront, and seemed to be the main strip of the town. Having surveyed the few restaurants, none of them were offering crab the way I wanted it, so we ended up going to a restaurant called The Galley.

... salsa beforehand, spilling your crumbs onto real cotton napkins. The real thing. The formal set up and operation of the place really don't match the price to my eye. Paying less than 10 dollars for a pizza I would expect minimalist service.

Day 2 at Pismo Beach and we adjusted to US time by sleeping for 11 hours and waking up at 8.30 am. We had our breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, on a cliff overlooking the ocean. As we watched the waves crash onto the rocks, we noticed a clump of seaweed drifting about. But then it waved - it was an otter! We also saw a seal. The cliffs around the hotel are home to many seagulls and pelicans and Treasure Number 2 took a liking ...

Um 9 Uhr starteten wir von der Großstadt LA in Richtung Santa Barbara. Für einen Starbucks fuhren wir durch die ganze Stadt. Weiter ging es nach Ventura in eine Mall, wo wir noch unsere letzten Abercrombie und Hollisterwünsche erfüllten.
Danach sind wir direkt nach Santa Barbara geflitzt, allerdings durch Nebel, der sich jedoch in Santa Barbara auflöste.

In Santa Barbara sind wir dann an den Strand ...

... area. All of the houses are of a similar style with a italian/mexican feel and colour. Michael Jackson had his trial here a few years back so that shows the status of the town. Also helps understand the prices for everything to. Back on the bus we travelled what seemed a short distance (maybe David slpet too?) to Pismo Beach. We didn;t know at the time but the tour company had never used this hotel before so they were a little nervous. No need to worry ...

Another beautiful day in Pismo Beach, CA. I had to run out to do a voiceover this morning. While I was gone, the boys did some schoolwork. When I got back the 3 of us went down on the beach and played football together while Kelly worked on reservations for northern CA. We were planning on renting ATV's and riding on the beach, but by the time we got down there it was too late.
