He was a hardworking rancher that said he finally decided to get his health under control and started eating healthier, walking more, and just recently quit tobacco use. Highlights: - lunch at Sandbar in Santa Barbara - fantastic Mexican - could have stayed here all day - the drive was beautiful - Pismo Beach...the Pier, the kids having a swim, just a cute little town - getting to bed early and having a 10 hour ...

... Padres National Forrest to Los Olivos, the wine centre of the Santa Ynez area. All the local wineries had tasting rooms in the town, and other eclectic shops and galleries abounded. We also tried to visit the miniature horses at Quicksilver Ranch but they had closed at three p.m - too bad for them, this missed out on our company. Back onto highway 101 to Pismo Beach which will be our base for the next two days. A balmy evening as we headed to the beach for a walk ...

... s quite chilly, really glad Tina lent me her ski gloves, then the hills come but they are more roller coaster don't need to walk them today. Came to a lovely little coast town Cayucos, really quaint with a pier and as we cycled in there was a fish& chip shop, Duckies, so Peter said we just had to stop even though it was only 11.30 so we shared a portion of fried snapper with chips and a beer, very good. It was warming up now and there were lots of ...
