      We awoke to the sight of the 10th fairway only 20 yards from our tent. A vicious slice from one of the members and we'd potentially have 364 dimples landing on the canvas. Steve was a tad ashamed he hadn't spotted it the night before; he can usually sniff a golf course from miles away. Next surprise was the turkey vultures who strolled across the fairway and paid us a visit at our pitch. ...

      Very sad to be leaving our gorgeous Malibu neighbours but we will hopefully meet up with them again in San Diego as they don't live that far away.

      I got my washing done and des dropped off the hire car then we hit the road up north past Santa Monica plus lots of other very cool beaches along the way.

      ... vans that had dirt buggies parked by them. The vans had been bordered up around the beachside face which we didn't understand, until we opened the car door. You could run a sand blasting company on that beach without needing any equipment. The winds were horrendous and whipped the beach sand into a frenzy. We battled on for five minutes before conceding defeat and returning to town for a night in a $55 hotel ...

      ... town judging by all the beautiful people and expensive shops we saw. We started to look in shops but the price tags were enough to tell us we didn't belong. It was too hot to do much else so we decided to press on to Pismo Beach.
