9 North Terrace Burnie, Tasmania, Australia, 7320
What can i say. I'm home, i've spent three weeks organising my life, catching up with friends and family, enjoying my walks on the beach, trying to motivate myself to keep up with the spanish learning, getting back into the yoga, and now its time to get back into the real world and get myself a job.
Fun times to be had, let me tell you. Don't be jealous now...
... its way from the local mountains out to the sea. So we took the bus. It was a full bus that made two stops before Fern Glade. The first was at a lookout point on the edge of town. The bus waited while we all got off and photographed the town nestled between the mountains and the Tasman Sea. Next was a stop to leave off passengers to visit a Flower Farm. We were surprised that most of the bus got off to visit the farm and shops. Yes, it was nice, but didn't they realize ...
Burnie, Tasmania, Australia, North Island, Australia danharrietWe arrived in Devonport, Tasmania on the 13th January after an over-night trip on the "Spirit of Tasmania". The crossing was fairly smooth with no sea sicknessto report. We are staying at the Lions Caravan Park in Port Sorrel the 1st 4 nights . We set up our annexe/tent for the 1st time - it is a free-standing tent but ...
Burnie, Australia waynenwendyIt was near enough our time to leave so we beat on up to cradle mountain to do a bit more walking around there, just did a circuit around the lake there cause the weather wasn't especially good and it ended up we were walkin through snow in some parts. Brian wasn't that impressed ...
Burnie, Tasmania, Australia hugh_mc_manusWe got into Burnie at about 8.30pm, so we just parked up and settled in for the night. The next morning, I was awoken by the crows (which happens alot in this country!). The caravan park was OK, but it did seem like we were in someone's back garde, and the camp kitchen was..... basic? primitive? I don't know how to describe it, but let's just sya we didn't do any cooking in there!! We left the site to see what Burnie had to offer and were immediately struck by the ...
Burnie, Tasmania, Australia tina_campbellWe woke up early and drove into the port where the Spirit of Tasmania we struggled to find where to go with the car but we found it and it took forever and ever to go through customs and whatever. We parked the car and walked up to the top of the boat to look at all the other cars that were coming in. After we looked at them and they had finished loading we went to reception to get swipe cards to enter the upper class bit (Ocean View Recliners). Unfortunately the person whom we ...
Devonport, Australia katemel... its history. It was well worth the money and I enjoyed slowly wandering from shop to shop in the museum. We have a similar type setup in our public museum in Milwaukee that I also frequently enjoy. After the museum it was time for me to grab the shuttle and head back to the ship and get back to work. The mayor once again greeted us as we got off the bus and thanked us for visiting their town. Burnie was delightful. Each place I've come ...
Burnie, Tasmania, Australia tlbuster... to the onboard shop to buy a women's magazine. i can't stand women's magazines at the best of times, especially when they have a 50c mark-up just because they're bought on the boat. And, of course, it's inevitable that an article on 'how to be an at home pole dancer' would send me running for cover in te bar. Once there I met this German girl and we got chatting away about out plans for Tasmania. Before I'd even got close to remembering her name, this ...
Devonport, Australia jo21... The memorable colors and layers of this landscape made me stop a few times to enjoy the view and the pure air...mmmhhhhh....full breath in ! Then I reached Port Arthur, a place built for the convicts back in the 19th century, a fabulous place to visit, so many emotions and energies are still around this place where so much happened back in the day... A flight from Jetstar brought me back to Melbourne to switch airports and ended up in Adelaide a few hours later.
Hobart, Australia beyouLunch with Mum and Dad. Packing went well. Henry went to sleep in the afternoon and Tom watched 'telly - made hooking the caravan on easy. We didn't break anything getting it out of the garage! Dad got a good report from Dr - this really lifted our spirits. Headed over to the boat about 7:30pm. Barb from across the road came ...
