... lagoon. So to call it remote is not technically true. The lagoons steep cliffs echo now to the delegated shouts of hundreds of holiday makers whooping and hollering - any illusion of tranquility is now firmly smashed - as has the coral below also been. You can see the remains of the coral skeletons littering the seafloor through your badly fitting diving mask. It must have been gorgeous here once. Sadly the depredations of tourism have utterly destroyed this place - this ...

We all jumped back onto the long boat and began our trip to the next destination. The rain by this time was hammering down and the sea had become extremely choppy at times almost capsizing the boat. The waves were crashing over the sides of the boat and everybody on board was dripping from head to toe in salt water. We powered through and ...

... surrounding Phuket. It looked similar to Halong Bay and was a great taste of what we've got to come. Within minutes of leaving Phuket airport we were in a minibus heading for seedy Patong. Our hotel, the Eastin Easy is just outside the crazy Bangla Road and is a brand new hotel. After settling in we headed out into the madness. Bangla Road is a strip of go go bars, Pole dancing bars and sleazy shows behind curtained doorways. Lady boys, bar girls and ...
