So it was here that we finished our tour, we walked back to our hotel given that it was only 30 min walk. On the way back we stopped off and had a cooling beer alongside the bay– very nice! This was our last night in Singapore, so it was still early 7.30pm so off to the pool we went. Very nice after the heat of the day! Chatted about the day and the next part of our journey.

Even the structure of the dome is cool as it doesn't have one pillar and like many of the architecture in Singapore, will impress most everyone. ... 38. Needless to say we only had one drink. After drinks we headed back to the airport to sleep off a few more hours only to be woken up by guys with machine guns checking passports. Once we saw that we headed for our gate and just waited there to board out flight at around 4:00am. ... and all of the hosts and hostesses pressing us to check out their happy hour, special menu or whatever other gimmick to get us in the door. It reminded us a bit of an Asian version of the restaurant gauntlet we had to run each night in Brussels and just like those nights, the people watching there on that street was fantastic. ... a main drag had a huge colourful display of goats on the central island. Several streets were closed to traffic and had become New Year Markets. Two long streets had only food shop/stalls set up in the middle, with alternating sections of 'common' tables. So, reserve a seat somehow, choose your food and eat. Plates were cleared away for you, and women came around offering beer for sale. It was a wonderful atmosphere. Party time. Families. ...
