      We only have one full day in Bonifacio, arriving late yesterday afternoon, and leaving tomorrow morning for a couple of days in the northern mountains of Corsica. So today had to be the day we experienced as much as we could. We had checked out boat tours (no name tags, no numbered stickers on our shirts!!) to get have a look at Bonifacio from the water.       ... were made by stacking stones (stones is probably an understatement - these are big boulders) into a self supporting conical shape with a large (3 metre wide) slab of granite at the top. Impressive. This village was discovered in then1950's and has not been completely explored yet. This village dates from about 900BC. That's old, really old. I wonder how they made these structures, what they were wearing, what the kids ...

      ... says. Switching to French has been a little challenging and there have been a lot of 'si's instead of 'oiu's! We've also noticed a big difference with the response to our children. Within only a few days the kids (& I) had been told off for their behavior more than I can count. Just little things like opening the ice cream fridge or taking a napkin from the counter was scolded in French by the shop owners/restaurant staff; kids of course looking ...

      ... to middle age.
      For all except graham the mountain scenery was spectacullar. He said all he could see was the white line when we had one, in the middle of road.
      Arrived at Corte - staying at different hotels. Thunder and lightening and heavy rain. Waited a while for it to subside then g&j dropped us off at our hotel.

      ... and breakfast. On the way to the boulangerie we passed by a garage sale area. It looks like every Sunday, locals organize a garage sale, it’s pretty busy, I stopped for few minutes and took some pictures. You can find anything from clothing, arms, painting, cutlery to old jewelry.
