For some odd reason (most likely due to the boys' lack of common sense), we decided to travel as far into the country as possible. Beautiful escape from the world

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Beach Garden Resort in early August 2006, and had an incredible experience. For those truly seeking an escape from the frenetic pace of the crowds, I highly recommend the Beach Garden.
With only 12 rooms on site, its a very intimate atmosphere. The restaurant is literally right ON the beach in the sand, and serves up fantastic breakfasts! The ambience at night is truly magical. Overall, the Beach Garden Resort exceeded all of our expectations, and think its probably the best value on the entire beach. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a Balinese theme, and feel like little hideaways, despite right next to other rooms. Perhaps the only strikes against this lovely place is the size of the pool (absolutely tiny, however, compliments the size of the resort) and the bathrooms, which are very stark, standard and have open shower with no curtain (almost doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the room's atmosphere).
Overall, check your pretentions at the door, and I believe you can truly have a romantic, beautiful experience at the Beach Garden Resort. The German owners were also very helpful with our booking and everything went off without a hitch. I can only hope to get a chance to return again someday.

Abendessen am Strand ein Traum

Wir haben dort nicht übernachtet (wir waren im Pelangi, weiter unten am Strand), aber hier die meiste Zeit zu Mittag und Abend gegessen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und es war dort jeden Abend rappelvoll. Ein unvergesslicher Ort, sehr romantisch, genau wie man sich ein Strandrestaurant vorstellt. Wenn Sie im Pelangi übernachten sollten, kann ich es definitiv empfehlen (wir fanden das Essen dort schrecklich) - wenn Sie aus dem Hotel kommen, nach links gehen und dann nach 5 bis 10 Minuten sehen Sie das Carlsberg-Schild! Das Essen ist sehr preiswert und schön präsentiert. Probieren Sie auch die Cocktails! Ich werde mich lange gerne an das Beach Garden Resort erinnern.

Mein Freund und ich verbrachten im letzten Jahr zwei Nächte in Langkawi auf einem Kurztrip von Singapur. Wir waren beide Nächte im Beach Garden Resort und waren begeistert! Das Zimmer war recht groß und sehr sauber, das Personal wirklich sehr hilfsbereit und das Frühstück wirklich sehr gut! Das Beste am Beach Garden Resort war die Tatsache, dass es sich dort nicht kommerziell oder touristisch angefühlt hat, so wie die anderen Hotels dort. Als wir ankamen, waren wir so glücklich, dass wir uns für dieses Hotel entschieden hatten! Die intime und gelassene Atmosphäre des Beach Garden Resorts sind der perfekte Wahl, wenn Sie einen ruhigen und komfortablen Ort in Langwaki suchen, der auch nicht allzu teuer ist. Bei unserem nächsten Trip nach Langkawi werden wir definitiv wieder dort bleiben!
Did not meet expectations

This resort is not as well done up as I expected from the rave reviews. It has been described as beautiful and nicely decorated. I found it almost hostel-basic, especially the bathroom which didn't have shower curtains. The pro's include the delicious breakfast spread which is something of a feast, that Pantai Cenang with fine white sand is just in front of the resort, and that we had parking space every evening. But I didn't think the rooms were really value for money. Many reviews highly recommend the restaurants at this and Bon Ton resort. I think one can easily find better food in Singapore at a fraction of the cost, and with better ambience.
Excellent food, the most romantic setting

We too stayed at the Pelangi last October/November but dined at the beach garden some lunchtimes and most evenings. While we did visit other restaurants during our 10 days we always returned to Beach Garden. It has to be the best on the island. A simple setting on the beach but by far the most romantic. The food is exceptional. We dined here on our last evening watching a beautiful sunset. Perfect!!!!!

Dream dining on the beach

We didn't actually stay here (we stayed at the Pelangi just down the beach), but ate here most days for lunch and dinner. The food is excellent, and far, far better than the hotel and the other restaurants we tried in town.
The staff are very friendly and the place is packed out every night. It is an unforgettable place, very romantic and just what you might imagine from a bech-side restaurant.
If you are staying at the Pelangi I would definitely recommend it (as we thought the food there was awful) - just come out the hotel on to the beach, turn left and keep going for five or ten mins until you see the Carlsberg sign!
Food is well priced and beautifully presented. Make sure you try the cocktails too!

me and my partner were very pleased and satisfied with our stay at the Beach Garden. the pool, the bistro and the overall environment provided a unique atmosphere like no other within the area. the beach was extremely peaceful and relaxing. the decor of batiks and objects of art and culture were very inspiring. staff were very friendly and pleasant. loved the stay and will remember always....

My boyfriend and i spent two nights in Langkawi last year on a side-trip from Singapore. Both nights we stayed at the Beach Garden Resort and absolutely loved it!
The room was a good size and really clean, the staff were really helpful and the breakfasts were really really good!
The best thing about the 'Beach Garden Resort' is that it doesn't feel as commercialised or touristy as many of the other surrounding hotels do. We had considered several of the surrounding 'larger' resorts, but were so glad with our choice when we got there! The intimacy and laid-back vibe of the 'Beach Garden Resort' make it the perfect choice if you're looking for somewhere peaceful and comfortable to stay in Langkawi with not too high a price tag. We'll definately be coming back to this resort on our next trip to Langkawi!

My family and I spent 4 nights at the Beach Garden Resort and 3 nights at the more expensive Casa Del Mar which is literally next door on Pantai Cenang Beach. The hotel staff describe the rooms as basic ( no televisions / phones ) We found the rooms to be spacious & clean & the service from the staff was very good. The hotel is located on Pantai Cenang beach ( white sands & very peaceful ) and is only minutes away from restaurants and small bars. The room rate included a generous breakfast which consisted of breads, fruit, cold meats, cheese and eggs cooked to your choice - brekafast is also served up until 1300hrs ! Had the hotel been available for the full seven nights we would have been happy to stay there.

The best start to a touring holiday in Malaysia. my cousin had stayed before , very basic but love to go back as soon as possible,food very nice, a dream having evening meal on beach,very nice staff especially on reception,beds very comfy, always clean,bathroom again basic but everything there that you needed,my cousin felt the noise from the mosquito spray above the door annoyed her a little but it never bothered me, so reasonable priced too especially booked on internet,would certainly recommed to anyone needing a peaceful setting for a holiday.
