Historical Traveler Reviews Beach House Villas Negril

    Fantabulous Time!

    from

A Great Getaway that can't be described in words. Beautiful and breathtaking scenery, first class accomodations and superior service. We had the entire beach house for 10 glorious days. What a joy it was to wake up every morning to the melodic sounds of the crickets and the beautiful sunrise that filled our living-room every morning. Our only disappointment is that our vacation ended too soon. The bar and grill on the premises Irie's serve wonderful food and drinks. Looking forward to next years vacation same time same place.

    Yeh Mon!

    from

Just returned from Beach House villas in Negril and was so sorry to go! The staff is superior and our accomodations were fantastic. The restaurant on the property was also wonderful. Do yourself a favor and go there!

Intimate, personal, and top notch service!

    from

After much contimplation over staying at a larger resort vs. something more quaint, we decided on Beach House Villas. Never having been to Negril, none of us had any idea what to expect. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, we recieved the highest level of service from every single staff member on property, which is most important in my book. I can deal with the beach bar/restaraunt having less than average food (we were on a rum diet anyway and there are many places near by to eat). It's hard to find a place that feels like home, has a small enough staff where you can personally get to know them, and a beach front villa with the most beautiful view on 7 mile beach. Regarding the last post about there not being security - that's crazy. There was always security on the beach looking out for us. If you stay there, stick close to ONeil (security). He absolutely made our stay fun and safe. We stayed in the Beach House Level 2 and the Penthouse. In my opinion the Beach House and the Ocean Suites are the best on property since they are beach front. The rooms were definetely nice, but not 5 star. The Beach was great. Our chairs were set out on the beach waiting for us every morning when we got up (thanks ONeil and George!) I could go on and on about the staff here and the people we met (if you go on a boat cruise, find Jack-O and Fitz with Local Motion) but this post is suppose to be about the resort, so I am trying to stick to topic. I can't say anything bad about our experience at the Beach House Villas (other than the food is not great at the resaraunt, but the restaraunt is owned spereately from the rest of the resort). And I know without a single doubt that it is the only place I will ever stay when visiting Negril. If you're looking for a more intimate experience and don't like to share a pool, bar, restaraunt, etc. with 500 other people, this is definetely your place!

I dont get all the positive reviews

    from

Paid $400 for 2 nights, definitely not worth it, cant make phone calls, lost power 1 night, $3 bucks a day to use the safe in your room and $125 if you lose key what a scam, resturant is non-existant and the one meal i had was the worst i had in 7 days, drinks overpriced and bartender will try to rip you off, sit on the tiny beach and be harrased because security is non existant and the swimming area sucks- Boring, shallow roped in area. The whole area sucks you cant walk anywhere without being harrased constantly, it wears you down and will ruin your vacation. If you are going to negril your best bet is one of the big all inclusives or the west end, JUST NOT EXTABI, try rockhouse, caves or tensing pen much nicer and more secure.

    Great Location Fantastic people

    from

The location and room was fantastic. The best that I saw in Jamaica and the best that I have stayed in yet. We rented the Ocean Suite, both levels, and everything was great. Housekeeping, security, and the folks at the grill downstairs were the best. You cant go wrong with this place.

    Chic and Casual...

    from

My fiance and I visited the Beach House Villas for a quick, de-stressing getaway before our upcoming wedding and we got so much more than just a vacation. It was a true escape- it's in an ideal setting right on the beautifull beach and being in your own private villa really lets you disconnect and not feel crowded like you do at a large resort. The staff was incredible and I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time we head down to Jamaica. A true find!!!

Wonderful Villas Managed by a Wonderful Staff

    from

We stayed at Beach House Villas in early Dec 2003. The first night we were there, we were woken up by construction next door, and management very kindly offered to move us to a villa on the other side of the property that was much bigger than the one we had paid for.

Without fail, the staff did whatever they had to make us happy, and always with a smile. Now one should not necessarily interpret a 5 star rating to mean that a villa in Negril is equivalent to a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, but these Villas had everythjing I look for in a Negril vacation, including:

-Very comfotable, firm beds -Good location to clubs and walkable to town, yet quiet -Telephones in the room (although calls had to go through the front desk) -A good in-house restaurant for breakfast, lunch and pina coladas -Sattelite TV with a good variety of stations

We had only 2 minor complaints. First, we had on-going issues with our hot water, but management was very responsive and did all they could to keep it running. When we met the owner George on the last day of our trip, he gave us a very generous credit on our restaurant tab to compensate for the inconvenience. Second, we wish the lounge chairs were a little nicer, and maybe had cushions.

Notwithstanding the above, we definitely plan on visiting Beach House Villas again. It is one of the few hotels I have visited where the staff really seems to make your happiness their personal mission.

    Couldn't have been better

    from

Our stay in Negril was split between The Caves Resort and Beach House Villas. Although very different from each other, both offered superior service and amenities. We stayed in the Beach House Penthouse (the entire top floor of the Beach House). The villa was probably close to 1000 square feet with spectacular views of the beach and sunset, and security was great and kept away ALL of the beach vendors. After seeing a good number of hotels in Negril, this is probably one of you best options. Negril is kind of a rustic destination with a true island feel. Don't hesitate to book you vacation at Beach House Villas, you will enjoy it. By the way, their website is great.

Beach House Villas - Go there

    from

We just got back from staying for a week in the Jungle House at the Beach House Villas in Negril. I can't more highly praise any vacation stop ever.

We rented the entire Jungle House, which features a penthouse king suite upstairs and two separate bedrooms with queen beds and separate single sleepers off the full kitchen, living room and dining room.

The Jungle House is located in a virtual forest of tropical plants. And, it is just 20 or so steps off the beach.

The folks there are super. They helped arrange dependable transportation - and affordable as well - to any number of restaurants. Rick's Cafe at sunset is not to be missed.

And, the snorkel and scuba center is right next door.

Additionally, you can walk to places like Kuyaba and Mageritaville.

The beach is lovely. I picked up a starfish in the mild surf there the first day.

Prices, at least during June, are incredible on food and drinks. Try three Sex on the Beach for $9 U.S.

Plus, the security staff at the beach keeps the vendors away from you without being jerks about it.

One thing to remember about Negril in June: it is quieter than in high season. We loved that.

People at this place are really, really, really nice. You can walk to town on the beach or on the road. I'd take the beach.

It is safe, personable. Really a neat place.

Honey, we're home! Time to ring in the New Year at our favorite spot, Couples Swept Away in beautiful Negril, Jamaica. This time, we did commit on exploring more Jamaican culture and doing more activities, and did learn a little more about their culture . However, most of our days where spent laying on the gorgeous 7 Mile Beach. Ya ...
