... Beach & Nauset Lighthouse. If you notice in this photo the trees are still quite green, it was such a surprise to see after having driven through the fall colours of Maine, it appears Cape Cod is a few weeks behind the rest of the mainland!! There are lots of hiking trails throughout the Cape - we could easily spend 2 weeks here exploring. In 4 days we only did the National Park at the top of the peninsula, which for some reason ...

Costumed 'interpreters' (wot?) portrayed actual colonists going about their daily tasks, frustratingly in role to the point where every verbal exchange assumed a surreal undertone. They were informative, however, and their English, tinged with the occasional American twang, added to their charm. The local Indian tribe, the Wampanoag, survived despite their contacts with the colonial settlers and their ...

... a town called Hyannis presented itself as our best option. Main Street in Hyannis had a restaurant strip, with dozens of eateries. We checked out the waterfront and then wandered down the restaurant strip. Our restaurant of choice was the Palio Pizzeria. We shared a pesto pasta and a gourmet BBQ chicken pizza. Now, this place was cool, but it was nothing on where we got dessert. While walking back to the car, we saw a really neat ...
