We left Portland yesterday, March 8th, at 6:00 am and flew on United Airlines to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. My sister, Dee, and Keith flew with us, but they were in first class. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Ft. Lauderdale where we met up with another sister, Jeryl; my niece, Katie; and her Aunt Laurie. This is a first cruise for the three of them.

... about the whole thing - it was one of the reasons we came to Florida a little early - just in case - as Georgia would say part of my Risk Management Plan.

The last few days we have been staying with Sandee Petrus, her daughter Tessa, father Ernesto, brother Jim and his friend Waleska (Wally). They have a condo in Hollywood which is just south of Fort Lauderdale.

Oh, and how could I forget, an innocent day trip to the beach becomes a group of us at a beach front bar. The waitress hooked it up, giving us a 2 for 1 coupon! I'm noticing a trend here. They have MASSIVE clam shell buckets, for lack of a better word, filled with a blue rum punch concoction, finished with fresh fruit. Delish.
