.....as Dan and I manage to miss our first train atthe beginning of the trip!! Excellent!! After moi's rabid seraching over a month earlier to guarantee us £16 super-apex singles to London we manage to miss our train by nano-seconds. Love Spoons

... And if you walk around them clockwise three times, that night you will dream of your wedding - if you walk 3 times anticlockwise you will have a nightmare!

We also visited an Ancient Celtic cross, probably from 6-7th century - amazing

Most of our day was spent at another sea side town - Aberystwyth. We took a little clunking old railcar to the top of the coastline with some amazing views. Then for lunch we sat ...

Rocky

Our friends from Bewdley Mountaineering Club were having a weekend bash up in Llandudno at Louise's place. Some of them were planning to do a bit of climbing on Little Tryfan near Capel Curig in Snowdonia. For several reasons we couldn't manage the whole weekend, despite the offer to camp on Louise's lawn, perched on the end of Great Orme's Head, overlooking the Irish Sea. Instead we opted to travel up and meet them at Little Tryfan for the day.

We left just ...

The track pulled round the back of one of the smaller peaks and flattened out a bit after that. To the left a beautiful lake suddenly ...

Canal Boat trip-Fabulous

Today we went to Snowdonia Park in the mountains and it was lovely. Everything is green here and lots of rocky terrain. There are many mountain climbers and walkers in Scotland and Wales. Everyone is friendly and is interested in our trip. From there we made a bee line for Llangollen Canal where we just made it for a 12:15 excursion along the canal in a 72 foot canal boot. The trip was lovely ...

Parade along the way!

We left our wonderful friends Margaret and Barry Austin and our grand room at the Midland Hotel this morning. Hard to leave a top floor room with floor to ceiling windows for the entire wall that looked out on the Morecombe Bay! I am adding photo's of the hotel and view.

We visited Chester, England and it was a darling town with the typical English Tudor style buildings and beautiful Cathedral. They were having a special ...

Retirement doo with a difference

Group of 25 headed up Snowdon in celebration of Andy Duggards retirment.

Brilliant time was had by all, probably the best retirement I have been on (obviously sponsored by Carlsburg)

Congratulations Andy.

Proved to be a good last workout before we go - calves are feeling the effect though.

Well done to those that completed this mountain for the first time - Scafell next!

Whale of a time in Wales

... and just wanted to leave. It was kinda cool in a school-geeky way. Swallow Falls was the next stop for some spectacular photos. The rain of the day probably made it look even more beautiful. We were quite soaked thru by the time we finished. Randomly driving north again we stopped over some random walking track just to hike as you will. The outlook over the lake and surrounding mountain side added another heap of photos to the camera. We ...

... park to the front door. We discovered we were on the second floor so lugged our luggage up the two flights of stairs. Our room is in the eaves, with some low sections of ceiling which we have, so far, remembered to duck under. We have a wonderful view over the town and of the surrounding countryside. Again; still, the weather is cool and overcast.
