... roll when I got to Carlyle which was about 40 miles into my day. I maintained about a 25 mph speed all day which piles on miles fast. Every once in a while I would encounter a few hills which seemed to never go downhill on the back side. I rode into Flora which is about 85 miles from where I started. We ate pizza which was a good late lunch for me and took off again. 23 miles after Flora I got to a town called Olney and got ...

... after almost four years of marriage, Mark is a man who needs little sleep.

We stopped in Springfield, Missouri to eat a packed lunch and Mark finally relented and let me get behind the wheel. Unfortunately, we did run up the bill between ...

So off we go to Springfield, Missouri, rolling down the windows, blasting the music, and chatting until 3am when we pull into Springfield and he offers to let me sleep in the passenger seat of his car instead of in the woods outside of town since he was planning on sleeping in the car anyway. I don't think I've met someone as generous, honest, or as well put together as Aaron in a long time and even though he headed back down ...

Monday 24th July After checking out of our pretty grim airport travel lodge and our sophisticated meal of McDonald's, we checked into our hotel called the San Remo near Nob Hill. It was a lovely traditional San Francisco hotel attached to a beautiful looking italian restaurant (unfortunately out of our price range) with small but very clean and pretty rooms with shared bathrooms. First stop breakfast, followed by an exploration of San Francisco for the rest of the day, passing ...
