      Once seated in Lambert's they start you off with rolls. They don't serve the rolls in a basket but instead throw them to each table.

      Ten Days to Texas

      On this long, challenging bicycle journey, I am currently 120 miles, or 3 days west of Kansas. There I will turn south for another 2 or 3 days to knock off Oklahoma and Arkansas on my way to Texarkana at the Texas state line.

      Just writing those words seems a bit surreal, but it's been like that for the entire trip. In reality, I now have over 5300 tough miles behind me ...

      We were given a $20 voucher for a local restaurant and drinks vouchers for the (posher) Hilton next door. We had a really blast checking in.

      ... Route 66 a few years back on a PUSHBIKE!!! We got chatting. They were adorable. Mark went for a wee at the shop (all shops have restrooms, some much cleaner than others, but you gotta go when you gotta go!). There was a sign on the wall aimed at people who intended to shoplift that said "This is your butthole" with a small black circle then under that it said "This is your butthole in prison" with a mich bigger circle under it followed by ...

      ... is in fact a nuclear bomb shelter built in one of the caverns! The tour was over an hour long, so we gave it a miss and pressed on and once again the female navigators let the team down! We had been driving along a small service road not far from the Interstate when Mumsie remarked that we hadn't seen a Route 66 sign post for ages, so Greg had a look at the map and we were actually on the wrong side of the Interstate!!!! ...
