... We had no tickets but managed to get great seats through a scalper near the entrance to the stadium. Laura and Emma were in the end zone but close to the first 1/2 action when SL scored all three of their goals. They were able to join us at the 1/2 for perfect, centre field seats for the second 1/2. This was a great finale to Laura's stay with us before she flies home in the ...

After filling up on the hostels free breakfast, we set off to Big Cottonwood Canyon. This is in the mountains next to the city. The drive up was very scenic and we pulled over in a parking bay at the start of a trailhead. It was a 6 mile round trip hike to Dog Lake. We began hiking and it immediately began climbing up very steeply, but the terrain was also very icy!

The path followed a little stream for a while ...

... seems really weird in the middle of know where, then further on a mile is a diner then a road entering into the salt flats. You travel around a couple of miles until the road ends and there you are - nothing else but salt. It was so hot and you could feel the burning as the sun reflexed off the salt. There was about three cars arrived and it was just an awesome feel to think that Bert went through so much ...
