... Halloween arrived and it was time to don our costumes and scare the local kids. All along Bek had been hoping that in a costume people would just think that she was a giant 5th grader, ha, ha. We dressed up as a zombie and the Grim Reaper. Apparently Halloween isn't celebrated as widely here as it used to be and some states celebrate it more than others. Apparently this state is not a beggars state (meaning that you can go to anyones door and beg for Candy ...

Currently Sumner's driving us from Nashville to Memphis and then we'll be going on to Hot Springs, Arkansas later this evening. So far the ride has been good since we're seeing a change in scenery now. Out in real life going by I've seen some cotton fields, cannons on the side of the road, baby ponds, rolling hills, and more endless views of green grass and fall foliage...I watch out the window like it's TV...except so far better on so many levels.

If sleep exhaustion is a sign of a good time, we have just had the time of our lives, ha, ha, ha! We made it to Nashville to catch up with a friend we made in Michigan and to check out the night life and check it out we did. We didn't go to bed before 3am too many nights in a row, Polly (our friend) has some serious stamina!

... In the evening are going to the grand ole opry. Oakridge boys and Tracy Adkins. We saw Tracy Adkins in PHX for Shirley and I s birthday back in Aug.
Our guide for the studio B tour is a cousin of the late Blue Grass Singer Earl Scruggs, her name is Stacy Scruggs and she is an entertainer and recording artist

... Johnny Cash's black suit and guitar, Minnie Pearl's dress, Trace Atkins' suit that he wore when he sang in The Apprentice. We chilled out at Hard Rock Café (more country music artifacts), and then had the good fortune of attending the Grand Ole Opry at the old venue, the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville. The Ryman is the "mother church" of Country Music, built in the 1890's and used for performances 1943-1974. We happened to attend on Gospel Night ...

... small cafe. It was so great that we asked if we could stay for the second performance and as luck would have it we got a table. I would return to Nashville just to go to the Bluebird, you can visit them on the web. We are now back on the road, well sort of, Jo is shopping at an outlet mall and i am stealing someones wifi signal , while sitting in the RV, we are both happy with this situation! Will post some photos soon.

I know you're supposed to make a thing for every day but this was three years ago so I don't remember exactly. I went to different schools in rough areas every day and talked to kids. It was really cool because a lot of them didn't have many people to talk to.
