        Up at 7:15 Friday morning 3/24...Lots of the packing had been done the night before, but it still takes 1.5 hours to pack the van and go.

        ... the fresh air with gratitude.

        And then into Alabama, as far south as we are travelling. Right on cue, ‘them ol’ cotton fields’ appeared as soon as we crossed into the state. Our evening meal was served by a woman with a softly spoken, flat southern drawl which was a little hard to follow, but she came good with a salad which David commented would feed a family of four.         ... to stay a couple of days in Franklin Ten-oh see, but couldn't find a campground in that town. So I zipped right on thru. My wife Mary and I stayed there back in 87 and I wanted to see how much it changed. A lot I bet. Maybe on another trip. Son of a gun, as soon as I got out of Nashville don't ya know it started to rain. Oh well the windshield wipers work just fine and the rig is watertight.

        ... trustfully, follow instructions from the visitor centre. Well, we ended up Lord alone knows where, crisscrossing back and forth, one minute on the route, next minute way off track. We spent most of our time trying to find the darn road that we were supposed to be on and quite frankly, discovered after much ado, we had pretty much ridden in a circle around Huntsville.
