Bob and I are preparing for our two month adventure in Spain. We are attempting to hike 10k every morning and have now added another 10k in the afternoon. Along with the hikes, we have added our backpacks. The question now we are asking each other often, "Why are we doing this?" It seems silly to work this hard in retirement. ... nice and open, and loading in was a breeze, minus the fact that we were in an arena and had a rolling stage. The reason this is an issue is that most of our equipment has to be fork-lifted onto the stage. luckily, there was enough room for us to put in a ramp for quickly removing equipment small enough to go down a ramp.
Otherwise, the show went off very well, with load-out simple enough. On to our next adventure outside of Indianapolis.
After the exertions of the Iowa State Fair and the pool hall the previous evening we laid low today. Went and saw a movie, visited the downtown area and ate dinner at Jethro's BBQ restaurant. It was featured on the TV show Man vs Food for its humongous burger...we went for the ribs and wings and were still eating the leftovers the next day. ...

After all of the small towns we were surprised by the size of the Des Moines metro area, it was our first "real" city since Seattle, with a population of around 500k.
