... I don't know if the food was good or if we were hungry but it didn't take long for us to devour it.
The Chicago skyline was much different at night than in the daylight. After weaving through traffic to get out of the city, we remembered how beautiful it was when we were here last. We wanted to get back on the road so we can stay on schedule to get to New Jersey by Tuesday.
I'm home, but thought I would get this up to date with the last few days of the trip...
We went to YL club in Mombassa on one of our last days there. Club was similar to what we experience in the US, which for some reason was a surprise to me. Big differences included the amount of dancing (tons in Kenya versus none in the states) and the length of club (almost 3 hours in Kenya compared to about 1 in the states). I think we ...

... for a friend of ours in Chicago. The Internet and Skype have literally eliminated geographic considerations when it comes to many office tasks. She continued to visit 'her families' in Granada whenever possible. Their big news is that they are moving to Panama in January. Eric will become the Bloomberg guy in Panama, a much bigger and more important country from an economic viewpoint than Nicaragua. In July we went to England, no wedding this time ...
Chicago, Illinois, United States johnmyers2... on the shoulder, pull up to traffic signals, etc, all while creating their own right lane. Pretty soon, the cars are following suit and the marked-two-lane street becomes an unofficial four-lane. You also have to be careful which bus driver you get. Some of them drive like they're trying to beat their own personal best times between stops. Which wouldn't be so bad if the stops weren't every other block! I mean, these very bouncy, jerky bus rides provide my ...
Chicago, Illinois, United States cestlavie... and Iowa are different from the dry rocky Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Here we see a lot of green fields with the beautiful tiny field flowers, lots of forests, and more houses scattered arround. The towns seem to be more connected with each other, there are no huge empty spaces like those in the states we previously passed through ...
Chicago, Illinois, United States studioizarAfter a two and a half hour nap at the Four Seasons I hopped on a shuttle and headed back to LAX for the 6:00 AM flight to Chicago. It is interesting to see an airport "wake up" in the morning as airport staff and TSA agents were slowly moving along setting up the cattle car lines and warming up all the machines. It is also amazing to see the amount of inefficiency that goes on as well whether it be ...

Chicago, Illinois, United States edfernandez1... as 'taint covered in the US guide, not surprising. Rainy days are a waste especially when the museums cost more than a donation. Had a look round the Near North area for some decent Jazz bars but they all cost like $20 to get in. Sunday, a nice day, but managed to spot the Tom Hanks movie 'Big' on cable, one of my childhood faves, had to be done, still got out fairly early though. Spent some time in the Cultural Centre, which is free, and has a couple of exhibits to browse ...
