        Day 39 Just when you thought it was safe!

        ... to a garage to get some oil - but no 20w/50w synthetic - but I was desperate - I would need to put some lubricant - so bought some 15w/40w to put in - thinking I can replace it tomorrow when I can get to a Harley dealer.

        Well - guess what - the oil went into the filler at the top and came straight out of the bottom of the transmission creating a an unseemly puddle under the bike. The transmission plug was missing!! Obviously ...

This town didnt even have R66 originally run through it, but they town has embraced the excitement of the old road, provides the museum free of charge and around the lovely town centre they have R66 murals and artifacts for all to enjoy.         We then realised this would be the last glimpse of the Missip that we'd been following for over a week. Now it's onto huge lakes as we go towards Chicago .

        ... size horses, of which one of the ponies has foaled just 8 hrs earlier. There was also a foal a day or so old and a mare about to fowl any hour.
