I left Albuquerque on the 17th early morning flight (6.15) which went on the opposite direction to Phoenix, Arizona. Couple of hours of transit allowed me to have breakfast there and take the flight to Orlando. I also lost couple of hours due to time zone and it was around 6 in the evening when I reached my hotel room. A friend (Prasanna & family) was visiting Orlando that week and he took me out for dinner. Conference itself was over 2 1/2 days (18-20) and I stayed in the same hotel for ...

Orlando, Florida, United States gihanWe spent the second day of our vacation at the Magic Kingdom as this was the day when we had the most amount of time. We got there when the park opened and departed when the park closed. Smoked turkey legs kept us going.
Orlando, Florida, United States kzecchiniWe spent the third and final day of our vacation at Animal Kingdom as I thought that we could see most everything there and still make our flight back to Ohio in time. I was correct! We saw almost everything in the park and still had time to spare.
Orlando, Florida, United States kzecchiniFor our Anniversary, we treated ourselves to a few days in Orlando. We crammed in a lot of different things. We visited Holy Land, Sea World (which is free for military families), MGM Studios, Universal Studios and the Arabian Nights dinner show. My husband spoiled us! And what can I say, we are helpless romantics. We live for such getaways. :)

Purchasing a Disney Dining Plan is another great benefit if you’re staying at a Disney resort. A dining plan can save guest up to 30% on meals from the over 100 restaurants located throughout the parks and resorts. These restaurants are also built around a theme, including their menus. If the restaurant is at a resort, its theme will coordinate with ...
... our stroller (the one we brought from home, not the Imperial stroller) we stopped to see the Siverback gorillas which convinced us at the falsehood of the Imperial propaganda known as "Tarzan". There is no way any man would stand toe to toe with these huge apes and walk away.
We made our way to pay the obligatory tribute to the Imperial gods in Camp Minnie-Mickey…where we understand the lines are short ...
... to find out no Homer Simpson - that's for the ball toss game. I get a smaller Shrek guy - but I'm still proud and might have popped a physical flex if anyone was looking. We jump on the ball-toss-off-a-backboard-into-a basket game to win a five foot Homer. Ted and I think we have it figured out. We have been practicing in our minds (two hands - triple spin - on the low spot). Five bucks a crack, a ton of top spin and not even close ...
Orlando, Florida, United States tednimsToday we spent the whole day gallivanting around MGM. Of course we did Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster, as well as The Great Movie Ride, Muppets 3D, Indiana Jones Stunt Specatular, Light, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Lights, Motor ...
Orlando, Florida, United States bookitorskipit... added a few more - this was my first trip to Disney with kids in my group (except for when I was one) so we did add rides that were more geared towards them. We did the Indy Speedway (which my young nephew loved - because he was able to drive!), It's a small world, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Stitches Great Escape ...
Orlando, Florida, United States bookitorskipitWe spend our first day - where I always like to go first, EPCOT. There is really something magical about this place! As we were on a time crunch with this trip we couldn't spend all day here - so we had to pick our top favorites and try the new rides and exhibits.
As always, I made a beeline to Test Track and then followed with the ...
... not be cranky, hot messes by the end of the day. I listened to the Wishes theme song (the one sang by actual singers, the last song on the soundtrack), "A Whole New World" (the Peabo Bryson version), and "Beauty and the Beast" (the Celine Dion version) and got really excited for Disney. I couldn't wait to get there already! With visions of giant mice, and the sweet sounds of tales as old as time, filling my head, I drifted off to sleep at 2:30 in the morning.
