It's a bit hit and miss with this place it seems. The room was big but the carpets were very old. Had a decent night sleep.

... the western shores of the Mississippi River. It was just a beautiful ride, and the scenic bluffs shielded us from the wind gusts almost the entire time.
A few miles into the Great River Road, we ran into the Effigy Mounds National Monument. It turned out to be some wonderful countryside, mostly known for its hiking trails. It looked inviting, but we weren't really ready for any hard core hikes. We watched the film at ...

As Mary Kay drove us thru the streets of Minneapolis, she pointed out the Target Center , the theaters and museums. Great city AND very clean! We left Minneapolis with a great route to take us along the scenic Mississippi River. We are now in Wisconsin for the ...

... could barely walk by the cook to get things, it was such a tight space. Had some fantastic pancakes that were way to big to eat. When I took a picture of them the waitress said, "Why did you take a picture? In case you get sick?" LOL. I explained my trip and blog and we chatted up a bit.

Next stop was Minnehaha Falls, which Jeff Woods told me I needed to go to. I'm glad he did. It was beautiful. The snow ...

We then headed over to great river bluffs to start our first camping
experience of the trip. As we drove into the area we were in awe. We
were expecting a little camp group on the Mississippi River but this
place was something else. The panoramic views from the lookout points
were amazing and the campground was extremely remote. We were some of
the only people there but it was so nice. All you could hear were the
    sounds of nature around ...
